Bonfires are now permitted again. However, please compost as much as possible — it’s better for our health and the environment.
Bonfire rules:
- No bonfires before 6pm or dusk if earlier
- No bonfires on Sundays or public holidays
- Only DRY material to be burnt along with dried diseased plant material (NEVER plastic or any other hazardous material)
- Do NOT bring rubbish onto the site for burning
- Don’t ever leave a fire unattended
- Never light a fire on a windy day
- Extinguish a fire immediately with water if another plot-holder reports having trouble breathing, or if a neighbour from the surrounding houses complains
- Douse the fire with water and ensure it is completely extinguished before you leave the site.
